Haiti - Culture : Successful musical evening at the Champ de Mars

Saturday before an audience came in large numbers, the evening organized by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the French Institute of Haiti, on the occasion of the World Music Day (Fête de la Musique) was held on the theme : "Tony Allen met the drummers of Haiti" was a great success.

The famous Nigerian drummer Tony Allen, the guest of honor of the evening, accompanied by Haitian drummers, set the tone, while the Voodoo singer of international fame, Erol Josué (also Director General of the National Bureau of Ethnology) sang the chorus of a song from the repertoire of the voodoo music.

Recall that Tony Allen, author and composer, is one of the pioneers of "Afro-beat". He participated in the recording of several albums including "Politics" of Sebastien Tellier in 2004 and "The Good, the Bad and the Queen" in 2006.

Throughout the evening, Haitian bands and artists including Louis Lesly Marcelin (Samba Zaro) and Jean Jean Roosevelt (gold medal of the song to the 7th Francophonie Games in 2013), offered to the public in jubilation a superb performance in a mixture of reggae, root, rara...
