Haiti - Politic : Regularization of Haitians in DR, two good news

Monday, as part of the National Plan of Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), Juan Núñez, Spokesman of the union of workers of the Cane (Unión de Trabajadores Cañeros) announced in a press conference that "[...] the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, through its Ambassador Fritz Cinéas, is committed to provide document (passport) for free to the sugarcane workers over 60 and disabled people from this sector [...]"

In addition, second good news that day, Washington González, Vice-Minister of the Interior and of the Dominican police, in charge of immigration issues has announced that next week the first 200 cards regulating foreign residentsin an irregular situation in Dominican Republic, will be delivered to these foreigners. Recalling that on 36 Registrations centers planned at the national level, 21 are already in operation and 316 people work in the context of PNRE, established by President Danilo Medina by decree 29 November 2013 and implemented since last June 2.
