On Tuesday, the city of Petit Goâve has experienced a day of extreme violence, of clashes between demonstrators who responded to the call of "Mixed Liberation Front", a branch of local opposition (led by Gerson Constant, Getheau Lindor, Alain Pierre, Nosalhito Soliman, Francis Lindor) and supporters of the local authority.

For this 11 th day of protest, the opposition continued to seek revocation of Mayor Sandra Jules and good management of the town...

Political activist Me André Michel, came to support the opposition was cheered by protesters. Me Michel encouraged them to continue their upward movement and demanded the holding of early general elections in the country "I have come to support the local branch of the opposition. Next week I will be in Jacmel within the general mobilization," declared Me André Michel.

The situation began to deteriorate front of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque where stones were thrown against the protesters by unidentified individuals. This did not prevent further movement on Grand'rue to the rhythm of slogans against the local authorities.

Reaching the street Lamarre, the situation worsened when men identified by some protesters, as close to the local power threw stones at them, hidden behind the police vehicle. The angry protesters accused the police of complicity, charges denied by the police who said they were also victims and affected by stones.

At the Geffrard street, the two sides battled with rocks. According to witnesses a group of individuals hooded circulating in pickups, armed with sticks, knives and guns have suddenly attacked the demonstrators of the opposition, striking them and injuring 3 demonstrators with knives, two seriously: Mondor Dieuseul and Daniel Dorléan, which were transported urgently to Port-au-Prince. Protesters panicked, running in all directions, while the attackers according to witnesses, were fleeing in their prick up...

Convinced that these individuals were relatives of local power, some radical protesters seeking gasoline to set fire to the house of Jean Marie Lamontagne aka "Ti toutou" they accused of stabbing members of the opposition...

The RN2 at André Dicette was blocked and burning tires still littered the street until 10 pm...

Also Tuesday night around 10:00 pm, a group of men armed of the opposition attacked the inhabitants of "Belle Avenue," a popular neighborhood, a stronghold of local authorities. Residents in distress, have launched appeals to the Police on Radio Préférence FM....
