Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Students demonstrate with the opposition

Friday, for the nth time, the Bloc of Democratic Opposition (BOD) [affiliated to the MOPOD] has again demonstrated in the streets of Petit-Goâve, accompanied by students of Lycée Faustin Soulouque, of some colleges and supporters of the Joint Front for the Liberation. Acaau Rilnor, a leader of the BOD, led the crowd...

Chanting hostile words to the President Martelly and the deputy of the city Jacques Stevenson Thimoléon, whom they accuse of blocking the outcome of the local crisis, under the rhythm of drums, singing and dancing, the demonstrators, mostly young people, arrived near the Petit Goave Procuratorate, threw stones against the building. A vehicle of the agents the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO), followed the demonstration from afar.

"Now, starting today, we hand the town of Petit-Goâve to the Dean of the Court of First Instance, Me Emmanuelle Tataille until further notice. For now, there no more

Special Technical Committee, nor Government Commissioner. It is the authority of the Dean Tataille we only recognize," declared Benjamin Louicito, a board member of BOD, adding "our demands remain the same : installation of a new municipal cartel and departure of the Government Commissioner, Me Jean Alix Civil."
