Sunday at the Revolution Palace in Havana (Cuba), was held the 13th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America / People's Trade Treaty (ALBA - TCP) in the presence of representatives from a dozen countries, which marked the tenth anniversary of the integration mechanism, founded by revolutionary leaders Fidel Castro (Cuba) and Hugo Chavez (Venezuela). Haiti beneficiary of ALBA, participated as an observer and permanent guest.

IIn his speech, the Ambassador of Haiti to Venezuela, Lesly David, pointed out the support of Member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance to the Haitian people "Haiti is not a full member of the Alba, but is one of the countries that benefited from the Alba [...] nobody can ignore what did ALBA for Haiti in term of health, education, agriculture and housing," recalling that after the earthquake of 12 January 2010, the Alliance was the first to send humanitarian aid to Haiti "The first plane to land was a plane of Alba from Venezuela coordinated by President Hugo Chavez, followed by two planes from Cuba, one with a field hospital and the other with the medical staff," he also pointed out the houses and road reconstruction work in Haiti currently made by Ecuador.

At the end of this summit, a final declaration of 43 points was read by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, participants expressed in the document, their commitment to the consolidation of the ALBA-TCP and also their willingness to fight for the second and definitive independence of Latin America and the Caribbean. They also point out that in the global context, characterized by the offensive of capital and oligarchies claiming destabilize and overthrow of democratically elected progressive governments by its peoples, the ALBA-TCP is an invincible bulwark in the struggle for independence in the region.

The meeting welcomed two new members: Grenada and Saint Kitts and Nevis, increasing, bringing to 11 the number of countries belonging to the integration mechanism.
