Friday several thousand protesters have took the streets of the capital, to the call of the concertation table of the opposition for among other : demand the departure of President Martelly, denounce international interference, reject the agreement of 11 January and oppose the choice of Evans Paul, as Prime Minister.

The protest began around noon in front of the St. John Bosco Church. The protesters walked among others, the neighborhoods of Solino, the Pavée street and Carrefour-Feuilles where shots of unknown origin, were reported near the office of former Deputy Jean-René Lochard, as well as stone throwing against the police force.

Very excited demonstrators, some waving the photo of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, threw slogans against the Head of State, to the rhythm of rara music. The demonstration, which was to end in front of the Faculty of Ethnology, was dispersed with water cannon and tear gas, by the National Police of Haiti and riot forces near the security barriers installed to prevent demonstrators from reaching the National Palace.
