Haiti - Diplomacy : Canada maintains the pressure on elections

Wednesday, the Canadian Ambassador, Paula Caldwell St Onge, met the Prime Minister, Evans Paul, to discuss bilateral issues, including the organization of elections, while reaffirming Canada's commitment in Haiti.

"Taking into account the stable and durable relations between our countries, I wanted to use my meeting with the new Prime Minister to encourage the organization of credible, just and inclusive elections as soon as possible. We were also able to exchange on topics of common interest, including Canadian investments in health and infrastructure," declared Ambassador Caldwell St-Onge.

Recall that the Government of Canada recently confirmed that Haiti is one of its priority countries for international development, which shows that Canada is determined to keep playing a key role in Haiti.
