Despite the grouping of several political organizations into platforms, which has allow to reduces the number of 40, going from 166 to 126 entities https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13563-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html , the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), in a letter addressed to the executive, believes it is necessary to find a formula to further reduce the number.

In an attempt to respond to this demand in a press release dated Wednesday, April 8, 2015, Jean Fritz Jean-Louis, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, Responsible for Electoral Matters, informs "the Political parties approved in the current electoral process, at the initiative of the Prime Minister, Paul Evans, in agreement with the President Michel Martelly, following a letter from the Provisional Electoral Council, expressing the need to find a concerted formula, allowing to reduce the number of political entity entitled to participate in the next elections in order to avoid any confusion that may impede voter choice.

Given the urgency that characterizes this approach, the invitation to this important meeting was sent by email to political parties allowed to participate in the upcoming elections.

This Press Note serves as an invitation to all political parties concerned, to the three powers of the state, to the CEP, media responsible and the organizations of civil society.

This State meeting will take place Friday, April 10, 2015, from 10 am to 6 pm at the Hotel Oasis in Petion Ville."
