Monday at Le Plaza hotel, the Ministry of Culture has met its Directorates General and Technical for a two-day workshop (25, 26 May) on the Public Investment Program (PIP).

Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture, who opened the workshop made a reminder of the broad guidelines of the Strategic Development Plan of the Cultural Sector. Her intervention was followed by that of Jean Michel Lapin, Director General of Ministry, who presented the development procedures of PIP, of procurement and project presentation canvas.

"The goalobjectie is to identify projects, to learn about the operating status of Directorates General and Technical and see together how to strengthen the work of the Ministry as part of its role as regulator and guarantor of respect of laws and regulations relating to the proper functioning of the sector to sustain and improve the results already achieved," indicated the Minister Raton.

Seven presentations were on the agenda of the day Monday, it is : the Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien (MUPANAH), the National Archives of Haiti (ANH), the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE), the National School of Arts (ENARTS), the National Theatre of Haiti (TND 'H), the National Directorate of the Book (DNL), the National Library of Haiti (BNH), the National Heritage Preservation Institute (ISPAN) and the Haitian Copyright Office (BHDA).

Tuesday's Day will be devoted to presentations of the Technical Directorates (internal) of the Ministry.

For your informations, the Ministry of Culture a for objectives in the short term, to : Contribute as much as possible in the creation of national wealth and sustainable jobs; stimulate and strengthen the cultural system, by punctual and specific structural actions; Improving the effectiveness of different structures of the Ministry of Culture, given the shortcomings of various kinds to which the latter are facing and better articulate interventions and its internal and external structures in order to achieve the desired results.
