Wednesday, October 28, at the School of Magistrates of Haiti, 55 judges have received their commission, during a ceremony under reappointment, promotion or for some appointment.

Me Jules Cantave, the President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) stressed front the number of judges concerned "This is a first in terms of quantity." Note that among the promoted judges there are judges of Peace, substitutes of the Government Commissioner and clerks.

Speaking to magistrates Me Jules Cantave attracted their attention to the weakness of the judiciary "Our country is ranked as the most corrupt in the Northern Hemisphere and at every occasion, our Justice is the main target. Justice riase a Nation. This implies that our weak Justice is the cause of the current state of things [...] As judges, you must remember to have as only compass: the law and your conscience. You're not going to let you drive by anyone [...] You have the obligation to be fair in your decisions! [...] I confide to you that function endows you with a sacred mission that falls within the divine. Why, you must analyze, weigh and measure each judgment you pronounce and every decision you make [...]"

Former Judge of Peace of Petion-ville, Me Samuel Baucicaut promoted Wednesday, judge of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, believes that the problem of justice is linked to the problems of the country and appealed other branches of government in order to strengthen it. He believes that the weakness of justice comes from other state powers, that use their position to "scheming maneuvers that bother and go against the prescribed law." Nevertheless, it recognizes the efforts being made to restore the prestige of the judiciary, particularly citing the sanctions that are imposed on those who deviate from the right path in the system.
