Haiti - Politic : DR wants to restore border markers with Haiti, that disappeared

The Dominican Republic has made an inventory of border markers with Haiti, those in good condition, those that have deteriorated and those who have disappeared.

On Wednesday, Chancellor Andres Navarro indicated that some border markers had disappeared especially when rivers flood or rising water levels of some lakes that have overwhelmed these georeferenced landmarks.

"A lot can be rehabilitated because they are in our territory [...] But others are by con are points of intervention that require coordination with Haitian authorities. He said that these interventions will be discussed at the resumption of the Joint Bilateral Commission, because many of these measures must be taken together.

What will help in this work Navarro said "This is the good condition in which are the original map plans of Treaties of 1929 and 1936 between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, which have given the limitations of current borders."
