Haiti - Politic : The Government launches an appeal for calm

The Government of the Republic informs the general population that it is and remains attentive to the opinions expressed and proposals made by representatives of governments, political parties and organizations and members of civil society for the finding of a consensual solution to the socio-political crisis in the country.

Also, the head of government, while recognizing the rights of different social groups to express their demands through peaceful demonstrations on public roads, gave formal instructions to the National Police of Haiti (PNH) in order to take all necessary measures to maintain public order and ensure the safety of lives and property, allowing all citizens to go about their business freely.

The government took the opportunity to launch an appeal for calm to the population while inviting it to cultivate the spirit of tolerance and dialogue essential to the promotion of "living together" and safeguard of republican values.
