In a note, the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal inform the public in general and in particular the Haitian community that "malicious individuals are being to smear the image of the Consulate and of Consul General, Kurdy Larèche, through social networks and that, in order to render ineffective the initiatives of the Consular Mission aiming the social cohesion and solidarity among Haitian families."

"[...] The Consular Mission strongly condemns this campaign of denigration and brings a formal denial to all these allegations, in all its forms, that some anti-haitians and anti-community are circulating, with the ultimate goal to satisfy their personal ambitions.

Consular Mission recommends to the community to remain calm because all the legal arrangements have been made with the support of the police to identify the perpetrators so that they account for their acts in accordance with the laws governing Quebec and Canadian companies."
