Haiti - FLASH : Bans to leave the country for former CEP advisers

In the report of the Independent Commission for Electoral Evaluation and Verification (CIEVE) delivered Monday, the Provisional Electoral Council of Pierre-Louis Opont, is accused of having failed to its control mission (Electoral Decree, Article 1). On page 29 of the report it is stated "The CEP has, particularly, failed in its verification mission of legal compliance of the results in accordance with Article 177-1. It stipulates: the Executive Director, after having received from the Director of the Tabulation Centre the election results, transmit them to the Provisional Electoral Council which ordered their display in the BED and BEC, right after verification."

The Commission states (page 30 of the report) "that many infractions would have been committed during the realization of the elections, including: fraud; forgery of public documents (which is a crime under Haitian law). Of BCEN decisions would have caused serious harm to the candidates. The competent instances must deepen the information and act accordingly, in accordance with the law. (Electoral Decree: Articles 195, 195.1, 201.1, 206, 211, 211.1, 212)"

In the wake of the publication of this report, of allegations and recommendation of sanctions of the CIEVE, the prosecutor of Port-au-Prince had issued an ban order to leave the territory against the 9 members of the CEP, responsible for organizing the 2015 elections, a measure that also affects the outgoing Executive Director Mosler Georges https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17510-haiti-elections-resignation-of-executive-director-of-cep.html
