Haiti - Security : Delmas soon under surveillance cameras

As part of a public-private partnership, Delmas is installing more than 300 surveillance cameras on all the major roads of the municipality, in strategic locations, which will allow the police to the end of January 2017, to fight banditry, to identify the perpetrators and to prevent criminal acts.

The cameras will cover an area from Delmas 62 to Delmas 2 and Carrefour from the airport to Trois-Mains (close to SONAPI).

Jean Bruce Myrtil, head of the Delmas police station, said that with such a system, the police would be able to locate, identify and arrest after investigation all individuals committing an offense.
