Haiti - NOTICE : Complaints on phones transferred in roaming mode

The Directorate General of the Executive Body of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) receives many complaints from the population of the border area, particularly from Ouanaminthe and Belladère, concerning their telephone, which are automatically transferred to roaming mode without any necessity and without having asked for the service.

CONATEL warns and requests all operators who provide a telephone service in Haiti to take all necessary measures to prevent it from entering into roaming mode automatically without the formal agreement of the Haitian consumers.

CONATEL promises to follow up with all the other bodies concerned to ensure that measures are taken, both technically and legally, in the interests of consumers.
