Haiti - Politics : 20 Standing Committees constituted in the Lower House

At the session of 20th of January, the second year of the 50th Parliament, the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies constituted 20 permanent committees.

In accordance with the rules of procedure of the Lower House, each of the Standing Committees is composed of 7 members minimum and a maximum of 15 members, drawn from political blocs constituted : "Parliamentary Alliance for Haiti" (APH); "Parliamentary Group for Stability" (GPS), "VERITE/OPL and Allies", "Parliamentary Group at the Listening of People" (GPEP) and "Group of Independent Parliamentarians" (GPI) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19844-haiti-politics-composition-of-political-blocs-in-the-lower-house.html

Among the most important constituted committees include :

The Commission "Ethics and anti-corruption" chaired by the Deputy Jean René Lochard (re-elected);

The Commission "Economy, Finance and Budget" chaired by Deputy Yvon Geste;

The Commission "Public Health and Population" chaired by Deputy Sinal Bertrand;

The Commission "Status of Women" presided over by Deputy Saint-Jean Monday;

The Commission "Foreign Affairs" presided over by the Deputy Anouce Bernard;

The Commission "Education Nationale" chaired by Deputy Kétel Jean Philippe;

The Commission "Environment, Natural Resources and Spatial Planning" chaired by Deputy Rolphe Papillon;

The Commission "Social Affairs, Labor and Family" chaired by the Deputy Jean Marcel Lumérant.
