Haiti - FLASH : PM's cortege killed one, wounded one

Monday, following the heavy rains that hit particularly the South of Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20744-haiti-flash-heavy-rain-on-the-south-significant-damage-provisional-assessment.html Prime Minister Lafontant at the head of a delegation including Max Rudolph Saint-Albin Minister of the Interior and Local Government and Roosevelt Bellevue, the Minister of Social Affairs went on the site to assess the situation and plan the response.

It was during his visit in the locality Kans halfway between Les Cayes and Camp Perrin, that a convoy of vehicles of the Prime Minister, has struck and killed a teenager and injured another who accompanied him. According to witnesses the cortege would not have stopped following this accident...

In a statement dated Monday, the Prime Minister said "have learned today with great sadness the death of a teenager following an accident in Kans near Les Cayes which also caused a wounded.

[...] The Prime Minister deplores this accident and sends his sincere condolences to the family of the victim, and to that of the wounded. He takes this opportunity to assure them of the full solidarity and active accompaniment of the government in these painful moments."
