Haiti - FLASH POLITIC : Baby Doc kissed the ground when he arrived in Haiti

According to Veronique Roy, wife of Jean Claude Duvalier (Baby Doc), reported, that when the former president returned from exile, is got off the plane, he "kissed the ground" and declared "Haiti my country, the country of Dessalines." His wife added that it was much emotion in front of warm welcome of the people who greeted them, including former officials of his regime, including his foreign minister (Dr. Adrien Raymond and his chief of the presidential guard of the period.

Like former President Jean Bertrand Aristide in 2004, "Baby Doc" [now 59 years old] was forced to resign by the United States and had left the country Feb. 7, 1986 aboard a plane from the U.S. Air Force. A departure for exile that ended the Duvalier reign, born twenty-eight years earlier with the democratic arrival in power of François Duvalier, aka, "Papa Doc", whom he had succeeded in 1971, at 19 years old to become "president for life" (the youngest head of state of the world).

His request for exile having been rejected by Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Morocco and Gabon, is finally in France, initially on a temporary basis, that Jean-Claude Duvalier went, a gold stay that lasted 25 years old.

At the time, then Prime Minister Laurent Fabius had said "We welcomed the former president of Haiti only because this allowed to free the country from dictatorship."

"I've come to help," Duvalier told reporters as he waited at the immigration office of Port-au-Prince airport after arriving on an Air France flight.
