The national selection of Haiti is arrived Monday night in San Salvador for their first match of the year against the National Team of El Salvador (La Selecta) that it makes its first home match in nearly two years.

The Haitian national selection is in full "rebuilding" and remaining on its great victory against the Qatar (1-0 in Doha on November 17) came in scattered groups, with many players coming from various countries by different flights: Jean Sony (Puerto Rico), Alcennt, Kelnel Pierre, Louis and Max Hilaire (France), Peterson Joseph (Czech Republic), Frantz Bertin (Greece), Dominique Zephyrin (London), Sony Norde de Guadalajara, (Mexico), Judelin Aveska, de Mendoza (Argentina), Jean Marc Alexandre (USA), and Monuma Constant, Makendy Duverge, Darlin Thoby, Paul Valdano, Charles Hérold Junior, Peterson Occenat (Haiti).



The event raises a lot of enthusiasm locally, Haiti remains a popular opponent in this country with whom we have a long history of football exchange. The selections from both countries began meeting together since 1950 (winning Salvadoran 1-0) at the Central American Games, and since the selections of both countries competed in 23 opportunities with a favorable balance for the Central American [11 wins to 5]. The peak of this series will remain the triple series of the playoff pf the World Cup in 1970 when during a play-off at Kingston (the Central American qualifying 1-0), in October 1969 after a surprise victory of the El Salvador in Port au Prince followed eight days later by a resounding success from ours, at the Flor Blanca stadium 3-0.

The players arrived from Haiti have been subjected to a rigorous medical examination in connection with the cholera epidemic raging in Haiti. It is finally very late in the evening that the players were able to join the Intercontinental Hotel located in the downtown of the capital of El Salvador, coach Edson Tavares has given an extended rest to players, during the morning of Tuesday to facilitate their recovery.

Tuesday afternoon at Cuscatlan Stadium, the players attended a training for one hour, with the national coach, in order to recognize the field and conduct a tactical implementation.

The kickoff is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 pm (9:00 pm in Haiti)
