The Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) together with the Hydro Meteorological Unit (UHM) launched Thursday, January 11, a new weather warning due to expected rains over the country and called for greater caution in the face of flood risks, landslides... that could cause these rains, because the soils are waterlogged in some watersheds because of the torrential rains that have fallen on Haiti since January 3.

Weather conditions in the central and western parts of the Caribbean are dominated by moist and unstable air. Showers are scheduled for Haiti especially in the southern peninsula, Thursday afternoon and generalized from tomorrow Friday, says the UHM.

The DPC requires people in areas at risk of flooding, landslides...to remain vigilant and apply the usual safety instructions :

• Regularly follow the weather information and especially ignore the rumors ;

• Put your important papers in a safe place and review your emergency kit ;

• Strictly follow the safety instructions in case of floods, landslides... ;

• Citizens who live near gullies, rivers or other flood zones, must make arrangements to evacuate if the authorities request it or if the water level requires them to
