Haiti - Economy : Inauguration of a Training Center for the textile sector

Friday, February 2, the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) inaugurated the Training and Services Center of the Textile Sector (TASC - Textile & Apparel Service Center), which trains the staff, before being hired by the manufactures and who handed the same day the certificates to the technicians of the second promotion of the TASC.

"This initiative is part of the President's vision to encourage private investors (Haitians and foreigners) to guarantee the supply and stability of employment in the country," said Prime Minister Lafontant, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting industry in creating sustainable jobs

"This Center allows the investor to spend less time training workers because time is money [...] A country like Haiti, where so many unemployed people are looking for work, can not to let the investor, who comes to open his factory, train his employees, which reduces our competitiveness," said Georges B. Sassine, Director of the ADIH.

Recall that Prime Minister Lafontant met the ADIH one of the most dynamic and influential employers' organizations in the country and representatives of the Haitian textile sector to learn more about the industry's expansion plans and the constraints that hinder the development of the sector. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23455-haiti-news-zapping.html

Note that the Haiti Industries Association has registered nearly 10,000 new jobs in the past 2 years, an increase of 25%
