Haiti - FLASH : UDMO agents shoot at the crowd in Petit-Goâve at least 15 wounded

Wednesday unidentified individuals set fire to the building housing the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Petit-Goâve and the Prosecutor's Office, by introducing into the premises burning tires...

In addition, anti-government protesters from Grand-Goave who had joined those of Petit-Goave at the foot of Morne Tapion, clashed with police who tried to disperse the crowd with tear gas grenades, before shooting at human height, from the place where were agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of the Order (UDMO) hit the crowd of demonstrators and trigger a real panic ..

The partial assessment of these shots is heavy, at least 15 people injured by bullets, most of whom were taken to the Notre Dame Hospital in Petit-Goâve and 6 seriously wounded were taken to Grand-Goâve.

In addition, the Petit-Goâve hospital received during the day several dozen people with symptoms of respiratory distress following the tear gas and toxic smoke of the burning tires serving as a barricade through the city making the air unbreathable.
