Because of the armed conflicts between gangs and the security climate which is deteriorating day to day, for several months and in front of the impossibility for the staff and the patients to attend safely the maternity Isaïe Jeanty (MIJ) said "Chancerelles", located in the commune of Cité Soleil, the Ministry of Public Health has decided to close the doors of maternity, which affects about 500 employees and seriously affects the patients...

Dr. Chantal Sauveur Junior Datus, medical director of the maternity hospital, deplores the fact that one is forced to close a health facility because of insecurity, depriving the population of an indispensable health center, when the country already lacks health infrastructure.

Dr. Lauré Adrien, Director General of the Ministry of Health states that the maternity will offer its services to the population once the situation has improved "Meanwhile, we work with officials to find a solution to the training of medical residents who need a definite learning time and especially regular, supervised and evaluated practical training to complete their training and earn their certification," he said.

Residents will be inserted in the other university hospitals in the country: the Peace Hospital and the Hospital of the State University of Haiti, doctors and staff will be sent to other hospitals...
