Haiti - NOTICE : False Chargés de mission of the Ministry of the Interior, real bandits

The Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) deplores the fact that ill-intentioned individuals have used the emblems of the Nation and the name of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) to perpetrate wrongdoing and to make themselves pass for people with links to the institution. Jean-Marie Reynaldo Brunet, the Minister of the Interior denounces with the utmost rigor any amalgam that such a situation is likely to lead.

He recalled that, informed of the use of official badges by dishonest individuals, he had revoked, in a circular in October 2018, all the badges of the officials, the local elected officials, Chargés de mission and Liaison agents of the Ministry. Likewise, MICT's General Directorate had respectively, on November 9, 2018 and March 15, 2019, ordered the holders of these badges, in particular the Chargés de Mission, to return them under pain of sanctions.

Moreover, on the basis of these provisions, the Minister Brunet asks the National Police of Haiti (PNH) to continue to track down all these individuals using these false badges in an attempt to tarnish the image of the Ministry.

Faced with such facts, the Ministry is quick to bring to the attention of national and international public opinion that everything is done to discover the origin of these false badges and to neutralize the counterfeiters at the base of their production.

Last minute : We learn from police sources, that 4 individuals with false badges "Chargés de mission" of the Ministry of the Interior (MICT), in possession of 2 firearms, circulating on board a Suzuki Vitara, were arrested Wednesday, June 5 in Cité Soleil.
