On Friday, Minujusth launched in partnership with the Haitian State and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) an online training program on judicial integrity in collaboration with the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), the School of Magistracy (EMA) and the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC).

This training, intended for all Haitian magistrates, sitting and standing (of Headquarters and Prosecutor), aims to strengthen their capabilities and integrity by raising awareness of internationally recognized standards of conduct and ethics to prevent corruption in the judiciary, as stipulated in Article 11 [1] of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, ratified by Haiti in 2007.

The first part of this online program is to strengthen the institutional and strategic framework of the fight against corruption by supporting the ULCC to carry out the evaluation of the national anti-corruption strategy adopted in 2009, the definition a new strategy for the next 10 years and the completion of a national survey on corruption and governance in Haiti.

The second component (of which the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) will take the lead) focuses on strengthening the capacities of the judicial actors in the field of ethics and the fight against corruption and includes 4 specific components : an online training on the judicial ethics, a training of trainers on judicial ethics in Haiti, three training courses on judicial ethics administered by three selected trainers, and finally, advanced training on corruption that extends to the law on money laundering assets and assets and the law on corruption

The training consists of 3 modules of 80 minutes each, focusing on the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct, adopted by the Judicial Group on Strengthening the Integrity of Justice and revised at the First Presidents Roundtable at the Palace of Peace in The Hague on 25 and 26 November 2002 : independence; impartiality and integrity and propriety, equality, competence and diligence.
