Haiti - FLASH : PM designated Lapin resigned (UPDATE)

The President of the Republic, Jovenel Moïse, announced the resignation of Prime Minister designated Jean Michel Lapin on Monday, in a letter addressed among other to the President of the Senate, Senator Carl Murat Cantave, inviting him to a consultation session.

In its Offices.-

Mr President,

Following the resignation of the Prime Minister designated, Mr. Jean Michel Lapin, I have the advantage of inviting you to a consultation session of the choice of a new Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 137 of the 1987 Constitution as amended [ ...]"

This session was scheduled for Monday, July 22 at 11 am at the National Palace.

UPDATE :

Following this meeting President Moïse said "Following the consultations that I had, on Monday, July 22, 2019, at the National Palace, with the Presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic, the name of the new Prime Minister will be communicated shortly."

For his part Jean Michel Lapin said "I made a choice for Haiti."
