Haiti - Culture : Final straight for the finalists of the music contest

As part of the Citizenship Education Campaign of the Minister of National Education to instill, among others, the values ​​of living together, respect for others, tolerance, solidarity, dialogue, of non-violence and patriotism, the 10 finalists groups full of talent, selected from the 4th Edition 2019 of the music competition, organized by the Ministry in concert with several artists members of the jury: Jean Bélony Murat aka "BelO", Roosevelt Saillant alias "BIC", Tamara Suffren, Darline and Raoul Denis Junior alias "Ti ra" ate preparing for the grand final that will take place in Vilatte in Pétion-Ville, Friday, August 16, 2019, to determine the 5 winners and 3 winners.

The groups are in rehearsal since August 5 at the local artist's corner in Pétion-ville.

List of finalists :

Centenary High School (West), represented by 2 groups;

Lycée Philippe Guerrier (South);

Lycée Fortuné Audate (North-East);

Carrefour-Feuille Schools Coalition (West);

St. Louis College of Jeremiah (Grand'Anse);

Mission of Hope of Titanyen (West);

National High School of Cité Soleil (West);

National High School of Pétion-Ville (West);

Grand College Hugo Paul de Frères (West).

Bélo stresses that the selection of the jury was very difficult, recalling that the jury had 69 works to analyze for a total of 273 participating students, distributed in the 10 departments.

Recall that according to the criteria of the competition, young people from 3 to 5, coming from one or more schools, had to produce a text and an original melody not exceeding 4 minutes on the theme of the competition "An n kole tèt pou yon lòt Ayiti".

In addition to preparing an album of the 10 finalists and departmental scholarships, the 5 winners will receive laptops, book prizes and more. To innovate this year, a cup will be awarded to the school that will win the first prize, and medals will be awarded to the 5 winners.
