In the context of the democratization of access to credit, during its second mission in the South, the ONAFanm Program of the National Office of Old-Age Insurance (ONA) granted to 375 small merchants a loan of 25,000 gourdes each to start or expand their business.

A few days before the start of the school year, this loan of 25,000 gourdes comes just in time for the new beneficiaries of the South Department. With a low interest rate of 1%, no social share or guarantee fund, these women can gradually struggle to get out of the rut of poverty. A period of six to twelve months is granted for reimbursement. Beneficiaries who have paid the entire loan in the time allowed, will be able to benefit in the future from a much higher envelope, ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 gourdes.

The beneficiaries are all unanimous in recognizing that ONAFanm is a great opportunity that frees them from the weight of loan sharks, thanks to its low interest rate, a reasonable repayment period and no prior contribution.

As always, a training session was held for new program recipients before handing checks.
