Haiti - FLASH : «Insurrectional» situation in Haiti (Province)

Friday, responding to the call of the radical opposition, several tens of thousands of protesters took the concrete in the capital https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28863-haiti-flash-insurrectional-situation-in-haiti-metropolitan-area.html and several provincial cities, to demand the resignation of the Head of State.

Scenes of looting, vandalism, fires and violent clashes have been reported throughout the day, with a lot of dead and wounded...

CAP-HAITIEN :

Clashes between pro and anti-government protesters in Samaria (northern entrance to Cap) have left more than 20 injured, including at least 15 by bullets, according to the Justinian University Hospital causing tension in the area and a panic in the population;

Several businesses vandalized and looted are reported;

Several houses in the Shadah neighborhood were burned down;

LES CAYES :

Friday the city of Les Cayes was completely blocked by barricades of burning tires;

In an atmosphere of riots, the demonstrators looted several businesses and institutions in the city;

Several security companies have been robbed;

The demonstrators stormed the police station at Quatre Chemins and seized police weapons;

The lifeless body of a young man was found on the boulevard des 4 Chemins in the city center;

Several fuel pumps were damaged;

GONAÏVES :

Bigot's police station was attacked by protesters;

The office of the delegation was ransacked;

JACMEL : (Southeast)

Several violent clashes between protesters and police who used tear gas were reported;

The Peace Tribunal was burned;

Saint-Michel hospital reports at least 4 wounded by bullets

JEREMIE : (Grand'Anse)

Several vehicles were burned in the office of the Departmental Delegation;

MIREBALAIS : (Center Dept)

At least 3 people were shot after an affront with security forces in the late afternoon, as protesters were throwing stones and shards of bottles at police officers, who reportedly retaliated with shots at man's height (information not officially confirmed)

Friday's demonstrations resulted in at least one death and several injuries;

Protesters armed with machetes fired the building housing the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Court of First Instance of Petit Goave many files and archives went up in smoke...

The office of EDH has been ransacked.

SAINT-MARC :

Branches of Sogebank and BNC were attacked by unidentified violent individuals;

In the middle of the day, protesters, equipped with machetes, mastered the police officers of the Freycineau sub-station and looted them. Weapons, ammunition and uniforms were taken away, a police car was stolen and another burned on a court of the sous commisariat;

The premises of the Procuratorate and the Courthouse were set on fire

OUANAMINTHE :

Attempted fire at Lycée Capois Lamort of Ouanaminthe (Nord'Eqst). Computer and school equipment destroyed by fire but damage is limited

No official report of the situation for this Friday has been communicated by the concerned authorities.
