Haiti - Demonstrations : New ambulance attack

Marie Greta Roy Clément, the Minister of Public Health denounces and condemns once again, an attack perpetrated Monday against an ambulance of the National Ambulance Center (CAN), at Nazon (North-East of Port-au-Prince).

The ambulance was on its way to respond to an accident alert at Canapé Vert around 2:00 pm when malicious people decided to throw stones at the vehicle and the staff, while threatening to set fire to the ambulance despite the fact that it and ambulance staff are clearly identified.

The Ministry recalls that ambulances are used to provide emergency pre-hospital care to transport the sick, wounded, pregnant women, and anyone else, to the hospital or health center. closer and most technically appropriate.

Minister Clement recalls that ambulances are at the service of the entire population and that they must be protected and facilitated, whether public, private, hospital or charitable, claiming "Demonstrate is a right, to attack the ambulances is a crime."
