Haiti - Crisis : Unexpected aid from the Government to the Population

Recent events in the country have had both economic and social consequences and have only aggravated the plight of the poor. Faced with this situation, on the instructions of President Moïse, several authorities of the Government are working on setting up intervention cells to assist those in need.

In this context, Thursday, October 3, 2019, the Fund for Economic and Social Assistance (FAES) went to Cité Soleil to once again support the community facing a precarious situation. FAES distributed 2,000 bags of rice, 3,000 hot meals and 1,500 school kits. In addition, three community restaurants will be reactivated and young people will benefit from short-term vocational training as part of the "Metye m se avni m" project. The many beneficiaries of this aid did not hide their satisfaction while thanking the authorities for this unexpected gesture. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28914-haiti-news-zapping.html

In addition, in conjunction with the Association of Petroleum Professionals (APPE), instructions were issued to ensure the supply of petroleum products to the departments of North, South and Grand Anse. Thus under high protection of the National Police of Haiti, a convoy of tankers has been dispatched to the North Department and another will travel to the South and Grand Anse incessantly.
