Haiti - FLASH : USA does not intend to intervene «officially» on the fate of President Moïse

Earlier this week, Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio, reacting to the crisis in Haiti and the repeated demands of the opposition about the President Jovenel Moïse' resignation, said at the Inter American Press Association conference that it was not the role of the United States to invite a democratically elected leader to withdraw. Speech that comes as Haitians have accused the Trump administration of supporting Jovenel Moïse last week

Senator Rubio, one of Haiti's strongest supporters, added, "My interest in Haiti has always been to have democracy, elections and the rule of law, and I will continue to support him in these efforts [...] We do not have a role to play in who resigns and who stays. "

Recall that during a meeting last week, with Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives and leaders of the Haitian community in South Florida, the Democratic Congresswoman Fréderica Wilson, proposed an alternative to the a much more committed crisis by declaring "[...] either we find a solution to put an end to the demonstrations, or we find a way to dismiss the President."
