Protests : 6 dead and 64 injured in 2 days

According to a partial assessment of the two days of demonstrations (September 27 and 30) 6 people were killed (3 in Port-au-Prince, 2 in Cap-Haitien and 1 in Mirebalais), 64 wounded by live ammunition / rubber and other weapons or stones; Six Haitian National Police vehicles were burned down, three police stations destroyed, two others looted and vandalized, and a large number of private companies were looted, vandalized or burned.

210,000 barrels of fuel arrived

Tuesday, October 8 at 6:30 pm, the tanker M/T Ardmore Entreprise docked at the terminal of Thor (Carrefour) with a cargo of 60,000 barrels of Gasoline and 150,000 barrels of Diesel. The unloading will last 14 hours.

Death of Mr. Pierre C. Labissière

Tuesday, October 8 at his private residence died Mr. Pierre C. Labissière at the age of 96, former Minister of Justice (March 1990 - February 1991), former member of the first Provisional Electoral Council (1987) and former president of the 'Order of advocats.

"What prisons for Haiti ?"

Wednesday in Port-au-Prince, the Center for Research and Exchange on Security and Justice (CRESEJ) launched an international conference on the theme: "What prisons for Haiti?" to be held on 9 October 10 and 11, 2019, at the Guiteau lounge of the Oasis Hotel. Accessible to local stakeholders, government officials, policy makers and academics, the conference will facilitate high-level exchanges on a central issue in Haiti's state reform : prison and penalty.
