Jean Rodolphe Joazile, the Senate President, has announced the opening Wednesday June 1, of the Extraordinary Session [in National Assembly] convened by the Head of State, Michel Martelly, for the ratification of the Prime Minister-designate, Daniel Gérard Rouzier.

At the opening of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister-designate, will be invited firstly, to file all documents required by law. They will be examined by a Parliamentary Committee to confirm their validity, If the documents are in accordance, the Prime Minister-designate, in a second time will proceed with the presentation of his General Policy, and the presentation of the members of his Cabinet for ratification...

Regarding the negotiations between the Group of Parliamentarians for Renewal (GPR) and the Executive on the ratification of the Prime Minister and the formation of the government, Jean Rodolphe Joazile has revealed that the former President René Préval had proposed to INITE, to leave the entire latitude to his successor to form his government. However, the GPR, composed of a majority of elected from the platform INITE, has confirmed that it wanted that the responsibilities of the management of the country is shared with the Head of State and its Prime Minister...

Rudolph Joazile, gave some details : "At the level of the platform INITE we made ​​several meeting with the President Préval and it was clear that INITE would not participate in the formation of the Government, it was clear. However, when the Executive has sat with the GPR, they said they was no question that they do not participate into the Government. INITE, which had evoked that they will not participate into the government, now said the opposite there are negotiations [...] We met with the Prime Minister-designate Sunday as the majority group in the Senate and I think that the consultations will continue... what I wish is that the consultations take place in calm, the serenity not to enter in the practices that lead the country nowhere. I think that today we need a little wisdom in the Senate [...] and at the Executive level, we need a little restraint, to enable us to advance properly."

The Deputy Sinal Bertrand, a member of the GPR, warns, too, that, "the Prime Minister-designate will not have the blessing of the the Chamber of Deputies if the negotiations between the Executive and Members of Parliament failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion."

The Senator Jocelerme Privert (INITE) stressed that the parliamentarians have an obligation to be represented within the the Government, to ensure that the resources and national wealth are distributed equitably throughout the country.

As for Senator Michel Cler (INITE), he does not share this view. He believes that no political sector should take advantage of its weight in parliament to demand ministerial posts for himself is the President and its Prime Minister who would form the Government. For his part, he stated that he will give his vote to Mr. Daniel Gérard Rouzier.

This session of ratification promises to be eventful in view of the many divergences in both the Lower House and the Senate. Let us hope that each and everyone Wednesday, finds the way of the reason and favors, for once in our history, the public interest beyond the party lines and personal interests.
