Me Jacques Lafontant, the Government Commissioner to the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince reminds the population that on May 21, 2020, the Haitian Government published a decree establishing the general rules for the protection of the population in case of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30843-haiti-flash-presidential-decree-setting-the-general-rules-for-protecting-the-population-from-covid-19.html ordering the justices of the peace and the police to impose strict compliance with the rules dictated in the health emergency order under penalty of sanction.

Government Commissioner Lafontant notes "with dismay and amazement the resurgence of an activity called 'Car Wash Party' endangering public decency and health" in this time of Covid pandemic Covid-19.

Me Lafontant recalls "[...] the Public Prosecutor's Office as a body for criminal prosecution and guarantor of social order is obliged to support the said decree by making provision to prohibit any activity of debauchery comparable to 'Car Wash Party' these activities constitute a major obstacle to the efforts to slow the spread of the Covid-19, while instructing the police to crack down on the initiators of these activities."
