As part of a partnership between the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of National Education, on the instruction of Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of Education, the heads of several technical departments of the Ministry are active in the relaunch of the School Reforestation Project https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24627-haiti-environment-towards-compulsory-reforestation-in-schools.html successively interrupted by the period "Peyi lòk" then by the Covid-19 pandemic...

The officials of the two ministries hope to relaunch the project for good by next November with the support of the entire educational community and the partners involved as well as local actors.

It should be remembered that the integration of the concept of reforestation in the school curriculum through education relating to the environment has also been the subject of reflection. The technical teams of the two ministries organized, this Thursday, August 13, 2020, a first working session for the relaunch of this project.

The Preschool Education Management Office, the Directorate of Fundamental Education and the Directorate of Secondary Education, together with the Directorate of Support for Private Education and Partnership must produce a policy document and an action plan with a schedule of activities for the implementation of this project from the next school year.

Members of the Minister's office are also very involved in this process aimed at materializing the vision expressed by President Moïse to see a very strong involvement of students in the reforestation of the country in order to revive the values ​​linked to environmental citizenship education.
