Haiti - Politic : Commitments of the PM face the diplomatic corps

Friday, July 30, 2021, Prime Minister Ariel Henry chaired a meeting between members of his ministerial cabinet and those of the Diplomatic Corps.

The Head of Government wished to renew his commitment to work for the creation of a security environment conducive to the proper functioning of the institutions and to the "holding of free, honest, democratic and transparent elections."

He also told the Ambassadors of his determination to continue and increase high-level meetings with the vital forces of the Nation, in particular representatives of civil society, the religious sector, the business world and political parties, in the perspective of a political agreement resulting from a very broad consensus, with the idea of guaranteeing peaceful governance.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his desire to meet the expectations of the most vulnerable layers through well-adapted social programs and adequate economic recovery measures. Combating impunity and corruption, cleaning up public finances, continuing the major projects initiated by the Administration of President Jovenel Moïse, are all priorities that the Head of Government has declared to want to highlight during his interim mandate.

Discussions with the ambassadors also focused on certain cooperation programs aimed at young people in particular and also on support projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the population, including the most vulnerable.
