Haiti - Security : Committee responsible for ensuring the security of humanitarian convoys

Faced with the acts of looting of humanitarian aid convoys, the Haitian National Police has set up a Committee to which any organization that intends to travel to the Great South must henceforth address itself in complete safety.

On Monday 23 August 2021, the Divisional Commissioner, Marie-Michelle Verrier Spokesperson for the Haitian National Police (PNH) presented the members of the Committee responsible for the management of humanitarian convoys.

Committee Members :

Inspector General Joseph Smith Peyo

The Divisional Commissioner Jeannette Bateau

The Divisional Commissioner Jacques Joël Orival

The Divisional Commissioner Pierre Louis Canger

Yves Stark a civilian employee of the PNH

The members of this Committee have their offices at the General Directorate of the National Police. Their main mission is to coordinate, in terms of security, humanitarian aid intended for the great south of the country. Whether it's internal aid or from outside [...]"

To contact the Committee, a short telephone number the 122 is available to applicants (14 simultaneous calls). If you call and no member of the Committee is available, wait to find a member who will take care of the security management of the convoys, explained the spokesperson of the PNH who affirmed that the escort of the PNH has already ensured the security of 14 convoys to the Great South and each convoy had a fleet of 11 vehicles.
