The Ministry of the Environment, in order to sensitize the population in general and young people in particular on the environment and popularize the existing means to fight against climate change, is launching the "Eco-Genius" competition on the knowledge and creativity of young Haitians around basic environmental themes, in the departments of South, South-East, Nippes and Grand-Anse.

General objective :

Respond to environmental education at the national level in general and vis-à-vis young people in particular, with a view to achieving eco-citizenship, adaptation to climate change and innovative projects in the field

Specific objectives :

Educate the population on the impacts of climate change and the existing tools to reduce the vulnerability of the country's ecosystems;

Offer Haitian youth the opportunity to learn and train on the country's environmental issues during the summer period;

Develop within the population a certain culture of civic responsibility on the environment and climate change;

Allow young people from the targeted departments to compete on their knowledge in the field of the environment in a fun atmosphere.

Target groups :

Local organizations, youth associations and civil society organizations working in the field of environment and climate change.

To better frame this Eco-Genius competition, a schedule of activities has been developed, the activities will be spread over 7 weeks.
