Haiti - FLASH : Confrontation between the «Ti Makak» Gang and the PNH. 3 police officers killed, many injured

Tuesday, September 13, special units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) including the Departmental Operation and Intervention Brigade (BOID) and the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order (UDMO) launched an operation in Laboule 12, against the "Ti Makak" gang which sows mourning and terror in the population of this area.

During the clashes between the security forces and the men of the heavily armed "Ti Makak" gang, 3 police officers have been killed : Patrick Octa (25th promotion) Rolny Destiné (28th promotion) and Abdias Garlliothe (29th promotion) whose bodies were taken away by Ti Makak's men.

Several other police officers were reportedly injured, information impossible to confirm without an official report from the PNH. Several men from "Ti Mayak" were injured or killed by the PNH, but the balance sheet also remains impossible to verify for the moment.

If for some the police would have fallen into an ambush, others do not exclude a failed operation... no hypothesis is excluded...

Until now, confusion reigns around this operation, even the objective of which remains unclear, and many information remains contradictory and impossible to verify.
