Haiti - Saint-Marc : More than 25 people arrested

The police of the commune of Saint-Marc (Dept. Artibonite) arrested more than 25 individuals suspected of being involved in the looting of state offices and private companies and on the beach of the coast, during the demonstrations of last week.

In order to deal with all these excesses, Principal Commissioner Mathias Jean David, the Head of the Jurisdiction of Saint-Marc, took the appropriate measures and allowed the deployment of the gendarmes to quickly regain control of the situation in order to continue to protect the life and property of the people.

It was also an opportunity for the Chief Commissioner Mathias Jean David to present the results of the intervention of the Police in the city and the various incidents that resulted in one death, one policeman injured and several injured thugs.

Commissioner Jean David presented the various materials that have been recovered and the measures underway to recover several other materials looted by members of the population in public and private offices.

For the moment, these young men and women are placed in police custody at the Saint-Marc police station to answer questions from the prosecution.
