Haiti - FLASH : «Barbecue» blocks the Varreux Terminal and defeats the PM (video)

Since Monday, in Varreux where the largest oil terminal in Haiti is located where 70% of the country's fuel is stored, has been totally paralyzed by the former police officer Jimmy Chérizier alias "Barbecue", radical leader and Head of the most powerful coalition of gangs from Haiti "G9 fanmi and allies".

This situation comes after Prime Minister Ariel Henry promised in his address to the Nation (on Sunday that all arrangements will be made to facilitate the distribution of fuel at service stations as of this Monday) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37681-haiti-flash-prime-minister-henry-addresses-the-nation-and-calls-for-calm-video.html

Barricades erected, mountains of ground and sand blocking access to the site and trenches dug with mechanical shovels around the Varreux terminal make access to operators, employees and trucks completely inaccessible.

According to our sources, the terminal currently has more than 8.4 million gallons available in total (diesel, gasoline and kerosene).

Wednesday, September 21, in a video, "Barbecue" weapon in hand and determined to continue the fight, denounces the critical situation of Haiti and denies those who accuse him of having received money from the Government to boycott the demonstrations popular.

He announces that access to the terminal is prohibited until further notice and affirms that the only way for Prime Minister Ariel Henry to get fuel out of the terminal will be to walk over his body and appeal to his men to defend and maintain the barricades...
