Haiti - FLASH : Attempted kidnapping and assassination of journalist Roberson Alphonse

The Ministry of Communication learned with horror the news of the attempted kidnapping and assassination perpetrated early Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in Delmas 40B, against the highly respected career journalist within the Haitian press, Roberson Alphonse, while on his way to his workplace at Magik9 for the presentation of his morning news program.

According to information provided by Frantz Duval, Editor-in-Chief of the daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste and Director of Magik9, the vital prognosis of Roberson Alphonse is, fortunately, not engaged, despite the fact that he was hit by several projectiles.

The Ministry takes this painful opportunity to wish a speedy recovery to the journalist and show its total solidarity with the family of the victim, his collaborators as well as the entire corporation hard hit by this unfortunate event which threatens once too often the press sector in Haiti.
