Total suspected cases: 52,377 cases +55 in 24 hours, previous +451 in 24 hours

Total confirmed cases: 3,184* cases +0 in 2 days, previous +0 in 24 hours

Total hospitalized cases (suspected and confirmed): 45,939 cases +46 hospitalizations in 24 hours, the day before +451 in 24 hours

Total deaths: 762 deaths ((520 institutional (+2) and 241** community (+0)) +2, previous +0

Partial assessment of cholera in Haiti according to data from the Department of Epidemiology, Laboratories and Research of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

*Not updated for 2 days. On the average of confirmed cases tested and the number of suspected cholera cases since the start of the epidemic, the number of confirmed cases should be between 18,000 and 19,000 cases.

**The apparent drop which indicates that nearly 55% of the cases tested are positive for cholera, does not reflect the reality, but is caused by the absence of updating of the data for 6 days.

Suspected cases:

Anyone with acute watery, profuse diarrhea with or without vomiting and dehydration

Confirmed case:

Any suspected case with a positive culture for “Vibrio cholerae” or presenting an epidemiological link with a confirmed case of cholera

Hospitalized case:

Any suspected or confirmed case that spends at least 24 hours in a care centre

Institutional death:

Any suspected or confirmed case who dies in a treatment center.

Community death:

Any suspected case that dies outside of a caring institution.
