Haiti - FLASH : 9 other Haitians prohibited from entering Dominican territory (List)

Thursday September 14, 2023, President Luis Abinader, as part of the crisis linked to the construction of an irrigation canal in Haiti with a water intake on the Massacre River, considered illegal by the Dominicans, ordered the Director of Immigration, Venancio Alcántara Valdez, to prohibit the entry into the national territory of 9 Haitians, whom he described as provocateurs, who constitute a threat to the interests and institutions of the Dominican Republic.

List of prohibited people :

Wanique Pierre:

Former senator of the North-East department of Haiti, for the Haitian Party Tek Kale (PHTK);

Ardouin Zephirin:

Former Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities of Haiti;

Jacques Sauveur Jean:

Former Haitian senator;

Jeantel Joseph:

Director of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP) of the Ministry of the Environment of Haiti;

Luckner Desir aka "Luko":

Journalist and former candidate for the President of Haiti.

Nader Joaceus:

Former Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MPTCP) of Haiti;

Jean Baptiste Aime:

Former senator of the Lavalas political party and former Haitian consul in the province of Dajabón.

Wideline Pierre:

Former departmental director of the North-East Ministry of the Environment and architect

Camiel Samson:

Identified as alleged sponsor of irrigation canal construction

These 9 Haitians are added to the 51 others already prohibited from entering Dominican territory
