Haiti - FLASH : The Military Association of Haiti warns the Government

Faced with the turn of events over the last 72 hours, the Military Association of Haiti (AMH) warns in a note, the Government of Ariel Henry "[...] against a bloody fratricidal clash between the Protected Areas Brigade (BSAP), the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), gangs and possible mercenaries..."

Note:

"[...] As a reminder, the current Commander-in-Chief of the FAd’H, certain Officers of the Military High Command and all demobilized soldiers from the BSAP are members of the Haitian Military Association. Some 500 non-military members of the BSAP were trained by the AMH and this list was sent to the General Headquarters and the Ministry of Defense for their possible incorporation into the Army.

A clash between FADH and BSAP is a clash between brothers in arms of the same Haitian Military Association.

Thus, Dr. Ariel Henry is invited to put everything on the table, first to prevent a fratricidal confrontation on 2 levels between BSAP and FADH, a confrontation which he would certainly not survive, then to pass the necessary instructions so that the BSAP is transferred without delay under the command of the FADH

At the same time, the Haitian Military Association remains convinced that the Commander-in-Chief will be able to demonstrate the leadership that these moments of national peril require.

For the record, we recall here the provisions of article 263.1 of the Constitution which prohibit the existence of any other armed body on the national territory apart from the FADH and the PNH and the provisions of article 268.3 which confer on the FADH the monopoly on the manufacture, import, export, use and possession of war materials, weapons of war and their ammunition.

Finally, the Military Association invites all political actors to go beyond their elite status and warns against any infiltration or instrumentalization of the BSAP in provocative actions with the FADH and the PNH [...]"
