In a statement, the Primature informs that in accordance with the commitment made, an independent commission was formed to shed light about the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Deputy Arnel Bélizaire. The Commission is composed of Me René Julien, Amos André [former Senator] and Me Kedlaire Augustin.

"...This Commission's mission is to find all elements that may help to shed light on the event, to analyze relevant data, establish the responsibilities and make eventually recommendations for the elaboration of implementing laws, of ordinances and procedures to prevent in advance of such incidents. The Primature asks the commission to begin work immediately to produce a report no later than Friday, November 11, 2011".

On Monday, the Spokesman of the Presidency, Lucien Jura declared "...at the level of the Presidency, we are talking about an independent commission, when one is judge and jury at the same time, it is often difficult to take the necessary detachment to make a good analysis and produce good judgments. Is the presidency could have prevented the parliamentarians to form their own commission ? No, we do not think, they have the right to do it.
