Haiti - Haiti en Folie Festival : When the compass meets voodoo music (program)

The Festival Haiti en Folie is proud to announce the full lineup for its 19th edition, which will be held in Montreal from July 23 to 27, 2025, in a hybrid format : online and outdoors at Park Lafontaine, the Quartier des Spectacles, the Jardins Gamelin, Park des Compagnons, and elsewhere.

Created by the Fabienne Colas Foundation and presented by TD Bank Group, the Festival Haiti en Folie is the largest multidisciplinary music festival of its kind outside of Haiti, entirely dedicated to Haitian culture.

The festival is ramping up this year with a rich, festive, and memorable program. The team is making a big splash by welcoming, for the very first time, two major figures on the music scene: the international revelation of Compas (Konpa).

The lineup includes (among others) : Oswald Band, a true idol of the younger generation, as well as the legendary group Boukan Ginen, created by singer Eddy François, a famous folk and traditional roots music group, alongside an impressive selection of artists of Haitian origin, including Tamara Suffren, Ricky Jay, the Montreal Community Chorale, Waahli, Bèl Vyb, DJ Nalee, and DJ Rleen. The festival's traditional Rara parade will also return for a ninth consecutive edition, hosted by Rara Jazz and Ayiti Makaya. A big new feature this year: a vibrant tribute concert to Coupé Cloué and the 70th anniversary of Compas, with the special appearance of DJ Nonez.

"Compas meets voodoo music ? What audacity !" This is the magic of the Festival Haiti en Folie : fiery rhythms, sweet and spicy food, inspiring discussions, a vibrant celebration, a renewed discovery, an ode to the richness and diversity of Haitian culture, and plenty of madness. I invite the public to experience, during the festival, a unique journey filled with sharing, discovery, encounters, emotion, and solidarity with the Haitian community,” said Fabienne Colas, founding president of the Festival Haïti en Folie.
