Digicel FLASH : Outage in the South

Reginald Boulos to be deported

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a customs and border control agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, announced that Pierre Reginald Boulos, arrested on July 16 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45385-haiti-justice-prominent-haitian-businessman-reginald-boulos-arrested-in-the-usa.html , had lost his legal permanent resident status in the United States. Seizure of 425.9 kg of marijuana

On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the Cap-Haïtien Drug Trafficking Bureau (BLTS), along with several units of the Northern National Police, conducted an operation around 3:00 a.m. in Petite Anse, where officers seized, during a search in the presence of Justice of the Peace Dieula Benjamin, 425.9 kg of marijuana and 525,245 gourdes, among other items. Three suspects were arrested: Somane Étienne (60 years old), owner of the house; Guerda Pierre (38 years old); and Myrlande Fils Adoré (34 years old).

Artibonite : New Departmental Director

On Friday, July 25, 2025, Divisional Inspector Jean Frenel Beauvoir took office as the new Departmental Director of the Haitian National Police (PNH) in Artibonite. He replaces Caleb Exantus, who spent nearly a year in this position.

2 new projects for the most vulnerable:

On Friday, July 25, 2025, as part of the Safety Net Strengthening Program for Vulnerable Populations, Viva Rio launched two new water kiosk construction projects: one in Santo 19 and the other in the village of Lumane Casimir. Twenty-seven small civil engineering projects are planned in the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets. These community initiatives enable thousands of heads of household, both men and women, to earn a vital income to meet their household needs.
